A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE APPROVING A SIDE LETTER OF
AGREEMENT TO THE INTERNATIONALASSOCIATION OF
FIREFIGHTERS LOCAL 4403 MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande ("City") deems it in the best
interest of the City to approve a side letter of agreement amending the International
Association of Firefighters Local 4403 current Memorandum of Understanding extending it
for one additional year, and which also includes modifications to salaries and benefits, as
hereinafter provided.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande
that:
An amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with the
International Association of Firefighters Local 4403 ("IAFF") is hereby approved, a
copy of said amendment entitled "Side Letter of Agreement, Modification to
Memorandum of Understanding" is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and
incorporated herein by this reference.
2. This Resolution shall become effective July 1, 2008.
On motion of Council Member Costello, seconded by Council Member Guthrie, and on the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Costello, Guthrie, Arnold, Fellows, and Mayor Ferrara
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 24th day of June 2008.

SIDE LETTER OF AGREEMENT
MODIFICATION TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
For valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby
acknowledged, the City of Arroyo Grande ("City") and the International Association
of Firefighters Local 4403 ("IAFF Local 4403") do hereby agree to modify the current
Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") between the City and the IAFF Local 4403
as follows:
ARTICLE 3.
WAGES /INCREASES
The City and the IAFF Local 4403 agree that all position classifications represented by the
IAFF Local 4403 shall receive salary increases as listed below, which shall replace the
increases in the current MOU due to be effective on the dates identified:
