A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 3255
REGARDING COUNCIL EXPENDITURE REIMBURSEMENT
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 36514.5 provides forthe reimbursement
of actual and necessary expenses incurred by the City Council in the performance of
official duties; and,
WHEREAS, in January 2006, Assembly Bill 1234 was enacted, which added compensation
and reimbursement requirements on cities to Article 2.3 and Article 2.4 of the California
Government Code; and,
WHEREAS, in November 1997, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande ("City"}
approved Resolution No. 3255, which established a monthly expense allowance of $75 for
each Council Member; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of the City that practices for
reimbursement of City Council expenses be modified in order to ensure the City remain in
compliance with all provisions of the California Government Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande
that:
Resolution No. 3255 shall be repealed in its entirety.
2. Each City Council Member shall continue to be reimbursed for actual and necessary
expenditures as set forth in the California Government Code, City ofArroyo Grande
Municipal Code and policies and procedures approved by the City Council.
On motion of Council Member Arnold, seconded by Council Member Costello, and on the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Arnold, Costello, Guthrie, Fellows, and Mayor Ferrara
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 22nd day of July 2008.
