A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE ESTABLISHING THE MILEAGE
REIMBURSEMENT RATE FOR OFFICIALS, EMPLOYEES,
AND VOLUNTEERS BASED ON THE INTERNAL
REVENUE SERVICE (IRS) STANDARD MILEAGE RATE
WHEREAS, pursuant to the City of Arroyo Grande's Administrative Policy No. A-011,
expenses shall be reimbursed at the per-mile reimbursement rates established by the
City Council, which is based on the IRS standard mileage rate; and
WHEREAS, the standard mileage rate established by the IRS is based on an annual
study of the fixed and variable costs of operating an automobile, for business,
charitable, medical, or moving purposes; and
WHEREAS, use of the IRS standard enables the City to base the reimbursement on
objective and independent criteria, which is derived from an in-depth study beyond what
the City is able to perform with in-house staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande hereby establishes the mileage reimbursement rate for officials, employees,
and volunteers based on the current IRS standard mileage rate in effect at the time of
travel.
On motion by Council Member Costello, seconded by Council Member Guthrie, and on
the following roll call vote,'to wit:
AYES: Council Members Costello, Guthrie, Arnold, Fellows, and Mayor Ferrara
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
