A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE ESTABLISHING THE CITY'S
CONTRIBUTION TOWARD HEALTH CARE COVERAGE
FOR MEMBERS OF THE ARROYO GRANDE POLICE
OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION UNDER THE PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES' MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL CARE ACT
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 22892(a) provides that a local agency
contracting under the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act (the "Act") shall
fix the amount of the employer's contribution. The employer's contribution may not be
less than the amount required under Section 22892(b)(1) of the Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande, (hereinafter referred to as "Public Agency°) is a
local agency contracting under the Act for participation by members of the Arroyo
Grande Police Officers' Association ("Employee').
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE AS FOLLOWS:
That the Public Agency's monthly contribution for each Employee or Annuitant in the
Arroyo Grande Police Officers' Association bargaining unit shall be the amount
necessary to pay the full cost of his/her enrollment, including the enrollment of his/her
family members in a health benefits plan up to a maximum of $101.00 per month plus
administrative fees and Contingency Fund assessments.
On motion of Council Member Costello, seconded by Council Member Guthrie, and on
the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Costello, Guthrie, Arnold, Fellows, and Mayor Ferrara
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 12`h day of August 2008
