A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE DECLARING A SEVERELY
RESTRICTED WATER SUPPLY CONDITION
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande ("City") is a municipal corporation providing
water service to properties located within its boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that as a result of numerous factors affecting the
City's water supply, including, but not limited to, multi-year drought conditions and
increased City-wide water consumption, the City is consuming ninety five percent (95%)
to ninety nine percent (99%) of the annually available municipal water supply; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that in order to protect the City's annually available
municipal water supply, it is in the best interests of the community to declare a severely
restricted water supply condition and impose the City's mandatory water conservation
restrictions and measures, as set forth in the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande hereby declares a severely restricted water supply condition and imposes the
water conservation restrictions and measures as set forth in Arroyo Grande Municipal
Code Section 13.05.040, effective immediately.
On motion of Council Member Guthrie, seconded by Council Member Arnold, and on
the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Guthrie, Arnold, Costello, Fellows, and Mayor Ferrara
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 12~" day of August 2008
