MINUTES
CONTINUED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1, 1987
COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 215 E. BRANCH STREET
ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA
The City Council met in a Continued Session at 7:00 P.M., with Mayor
Howard Mankins presiding. Also present were Council Members Dorace Johnson,
Mark M. Millis, Gene Moots and D. G. Porter.
Mayor Mankins opened the meeting.
JERRY BUNIN, News Editor of the Times-Press-Recorder newspaper, spoke to
the Council. He referred to his letter dated December 1, 1987, and said
there may have been violations of the Brown Act and the State Legislature's
Open Records Act.
The Council adjourned at 7:03 P.M. to a Closed Session.
The Council reconvened at 9:17 P.M., and City Attorney Art Shaw read,
in accordance with the Brown Act, a motion made in the Closed Session to
dismiss Robert Mack as City Manager upon expiration of his contract December
31, 1987, placing him on a paid leave of absence with no City duties between
the dates of November 25, 1987, and December 31, 1987. On motion of
Porter/Moots (4-0-1, Porter, Moots, Johnson and Mankins voting aye, Millis
voting nay).
The meeting was adjourned at 9:24 P.M.
