MINUTES I
REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 1987

The City Council met in regular session with Mayor Howard Mankins
presiding. Present were Council Members Dorace Johnson, Mark M. Millis,
I Gene Moots and D. G. Porter.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING USE OF "ACTION MINUTES" FOR RECORDING CITY COUNCIL
MEETINGS AND PROCEDURE FOR FILING/STORAGE OF COUNCIL MEETINGS' CASSETTE
TAPES
Council Members reviewed the City Clerk's memo of January 28, 1987,
and discussed the storage of meeting tapes on a permanent basis.
Moved by Porter/Johnson (5-0-0) to adopt Resolution No. 2017 authorizing
Action Council Minutes and establishing procedure for duplication of taped
Council meetings.
SUGGESTION FOR STREAMLINING WORKFLOW
Item withdrawn.
BRUSH POPPER LEASE EXTENSION
Council Members discussed insurance for the property, and City Manager
Robert Mack said he would be asking the Brush Poppers for proof that the
insurance exists. City Attorney Art Shaw said that renting out of the
property for an occasional day at a time by the Brush Poppers would not
violate its lease with the City.
Moved by Moots/Porter (5-0-0) to approve the extension of the lease
period for the arena property with the Brush Poppers Riding Club, Inc.,
for six months, commencing July 1, 1987, and ending December 31, 1987.

COUNCIL AD HOC COMMITTEE REPORTS.
Council Members said they were formulating their committees, and
Mayor Mankins asked that names of members of the committees be given at
the Council meeting of February 17, 1987.

The meetin9 was adjourned at 3:52 P.M. to a Closed Session on litigation.
