CITY COUNCil APR I L 17, 1985
ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA 1 : 00 P. M .
The City Council met in Study Session with Mayor BlAnn Smith presiding. Upon
roll call Council Members Matt Gallagher, Dorace Johnson, Gene Moots were present,
and D. G. Porter was absent.
The agenda for the continued meeting contained two items:
1. Flag Lots.
2. R-2, R-3, R-G Zoning District Densities.
FLAG LOTS:
Council discussed various aspects of having Flag Lots in the City. As a result
of the discussions, Planning Director Stan Eisner was directed to make necessary and
appropriate word changes in the Municipal Code to set limits for no more than one
Flag Lot to a parcel of land; 6,000 sq. ft. minimum parcel size; 18 ft. driveway and
. to specify that the Stem is not included in the building lot size.
R-2, R-3, R-G ZONING DISTRICT DENSITIES
Council Member Gallagher displayed two boards of photographs showing various
developments with tittle or no grassy areas provided for residents use and enjoy-
men t . The photos depicted targe asphalt areas instead. The display was entitled
"Multi-Residential Developmental Standards".
Council discussed the need for more open land areas, Jess denisty allowed,
and changes in the wording of the Ordinances to enable Council to set firm policy.
Planning Directpr Eisner was directed to write the required changes and return
to Council by July 1, 1985.
On motion of Council Member Gallagher, seconded by Council Member Moots, and
unanimously carried, to adjourn until Tuesday, 23, April 1985, at 7:30 P.M. for the
Regular Session of the City Council. The meeting adjourned at 2:30 P.M.
