CITY COUNCIL JULY 27, 1983
ARROYO GRANDE. CALIFORNIA 7:30 P.M.
The City Council meeting continued. Wednesday. July 27. 1983. at 7:30 P.M.
at Arroyo Grande City Hall.

Present were Mayor Smith, Council Member Vandeveer, Council Member Hogan,
Counci1 Member Mi11is. Absent was Counci1 Member Ga11agher. A 150 present was
City Manager Mack.
Counci1 reviewed the transportation fund and was advised by City Manager
Mack that there was a need being expressed by senior citizens in the community
for a new demand response transportation system to replace the void left by the
Grover City Senior Citizens Club which had apparently discontinued demand/
response service to seniors in the area. Council authorized City Manager Mack
to 100k into the situation further and to explore the possibi1ity of coordinating
services with other communities in the area.
Counc i 1 reviewed the utility funds of the City and requested that the next
time utility statements were printed that they be revised to reflect the district
treatment charge at Lopez as a separate item from Lopez bond princip~~ and
interest charges. Council a1so requested City Manager Mack to p1ace an ad for
a pub1ic hearing by the City Counci1 meeting of August 9, 1983, in order that
new sanitary sewer and water rates be considered and to have an ordinance
prepared for such meeting as well as necessary resolution adopting the City
budge t .
During the meeting, City Manager Mack reviewed various alternatives and
recommendations for utility fund rates for 1983/84 and 1984/85. Counci 1
elected to reduce the sanitary sewer fund by $20,000.00.
Council adjourned the meeting at 10:30 P.M.
