ORDINANCE NO. 350 C.S.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE
TO REPEAL THE SUNSET PROVISIONS OF THE
MOBIlEHOME RENT STABILIZATION ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, in May, 1986, the City adopted Ordinance No. 345 enacting
Mobilehome Rent Stabilization provisions, with a section providing for
the expiration of said ordinance one year thereafter; and
WHEREAS, it was the Council's intention that the mobilehome park
Owners and Residents would during that first year voluntarily enter into
long-term leases for a substantial portion of rental spaces, thereby lessening
the need for a Rent Stabilization Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, this Council finds that very few long-term leases have been
agreed to by Owners and Residents, and that the automatic expiration provisions
in the Ordinance should be eliminated, thereby making the ordinance permanent.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES
HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOllOWS:
Section 1: Municipal Code Section 5-16.06, which provided a one-year
"Sunset Clause" for Mobilehome Rent Stabilization Ordinance No. 345 C.S.,
is hereby repealed in its entirety. Therefore, the remaining provisions
of said ordinance, namely Municipal Code 15-16.01 through 5-16.05 and 5-
16.07 through 5-16.09, shall not expire at the end of one year or any other
time, but shall remain in full force and effect hereafter unless amended
or repealed by additional ordinances enacted subsequent hereto.
Section 2: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty
(30) days after its passage, and within fifteen (15) days after its passage,
it shall be published once, together with the names of the Councilmembers
voting thereon, in a newspaper of general circulation.
On motion of Councilmember Johnson, seconded by Councilmember Moots,
and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Mayor Smith and Councilmembers Johnson, Moots and Porter
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Gallagher
the foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted this 11th day of November,
1986.
