O 341 C.S. ORDINANCE NO. 341 C.S. AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE FURTHER STAYING IMPLEMENTATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 334 RE FIRE SPRINKLERS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The enforcement date for Ordinance No. 334 (Municipal Code Section 4-16.01 through 4-16.06) re mandatory installation of fire sprinklers shall be July 26, 1986. Building permits issued before that date shall not be required to comply with said ordinance. Section 2: The committee of City officials and building industry representatives previously appointed pursuant to Urgency Ordinance No. 337 shall make its final report and recommendations to the Council on or before July 1, 1986. Section 3: This Ordinance is an urgency ordinance which shall take effect immediately upon its introduction, passage and approval by at least four members of the City Council. The reasons for urgency are that since Ordinance No. 334 was adopted, the Council has been apprised of the ordinance's negative impact upon construction industry activities already in process, all to the detriment of the public health, safety and welfare. A further four month delay is necessary to permit the construction industry adequate time to adjust to, and compensate for, the effects of said ordinance. Introduced and adopted at the same meeting, on motion of Council Member Johnson, seconded by Council Member Moots, and on the following roll call vote, to wit: , AYES: Mayor Smith and Council Members Johnson, Moots and Porter NOES: None ABSENT: Council Member Gallagher the foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted on the 11th day of March, 1986.
