RESOLUTION NO. 3276
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE. CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR TEN
THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED. DOLLARS ($10,500) IN GRANT FUNDS
UNDER TITLE III OF THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT
WHEREAS, the. City of Arroyo Grande desires to apply for grant funds for the
Transportation Program under the Title III of the Older Americans A~ for the following
program:
1. Senior Dial-A-Ride Program; and
WHEREAS, the overall goal of the Older Americans Act Titles III and VII is to
develop a comprehensive and coordinated service system for older persons to enable
them to maintain a maximum level of independence and personal dignity; and
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande offers the Senior Dial-A-Ride Program to
provide transportation for older persons which enables them to maintain s maximum
level of independence and personal dignity; and
WHEREAS, the Central Coast Commission for Seniors, Area Agency on Aging
has been delegated the responsibility for administering the grant program and
establishing necessary procedures governing applications by local agencies under the
program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the Central Coast Commission for
Seniors Area Agency on Aging require the City Council to provide a resolution
authorizing Title III applications.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Arroyo Grande hereby approves the filing of an application for the Title III Transportation
Funds of the Older Americans Act.
On motion of Council Member Tolley , seconded by Council
Member Runels , and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Tolley, Runels, Fuller, Lady and Mayor Dougall
