RESOLUTION NO. 214~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
DESIGNATING A LANDMARK GROVE 87-34
WHEREAS, Sec.10-3.06 of the Municipal Code of the City of Arroyo
Grande proviaes for the preservation and protection of certain trees in
order to produce a more desirable, pleasing and beautiful community and
to maintain and enhance community historic, cultural and property
values, as well as to promote the publ ic health, safety, comfort, and
welfare; and
WHEREAS, this ~rove of trees on lot numbers 136 to 140, 220 to 226
and 232 of the Roya Oaks Estate, in the City of Arroyo Grande, and as
located and identified on the ma~ attached to this resolution~ has been
examined by the Parks and Recrea ion Director of the City of rroyo
Grande and has been found to be a Coastal Live Oak Grove; and
WHEREAS, these trees, due to their agek species, configuration, and
historical value meets cr teria for Landmar grove designation as
determined by the Parks and Recreation Director and Planning Commission;
and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission of the City of Arroyo
Grande recommends to the City Counc i I tha t these trees shou I d be
preserved and protected and designated as a Landmark grove.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande hereby
designates these trees as a Landmark Grove and directs that it shall be
monumented as Landmark Grove Numb.r 87-341 and
FURTHERMORE, this grove shall be protected, preserved and
maintained by th. grove owner and subsequent grove owners and such grove
shall not be removed or destroyed by any rarty unless otherwise
authorized by Sec.10-3.06 of the Munlcipa Code of the City of Arroyo
Grande.
