RESOLUTION NO. 2009
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE GRANTING A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC
OONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TO WILLARD C. GIESEKE FOR
THE OPERATION OF A TAXICAB BUSINESS AND SERVICE TO
THE PUBLIC WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE
WHEREAS, Willard C. Gieseke,l\-esident, Mr. LiJro, Inc., 850 Sheridan Road, Arroyo Grande,
California 93420, has applied for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity as required by
Mw1icipal Cbde Section 5-10.02; and
WHRREAS, such application has been detennined to be essentially complete; and
WHEREAS, public hearing has been conducted upon said application; and
WHRRR1,S, Willard C. Gieseke and Mr. LiJro, Inc. Intend to purchase and imp-ove service of
the existing Yellow Cab of Five Qties, a taxicab service to the Qty of Arroyo Grande; and
WHRRRAS, such purchase shall not undennine or detract from the current level and quality of
service provided by Yellow Cab of Five Qties; and
WHRRRA.S, Mr. Gieseke and Mr. LiJro, Inc. Intend ,to Increase the quality and quantity of
taxicat:s available for service to the public; and
WHRRRAS, Mr. Gieseke and Mr. LiJro, Inc. have dem:>nstrated adequate financial
responsibility and experience for the operation of a public taxicab service; and
WHRRRA.S, such taxicab service shall not pose a greater hazard to the public traffic or
parking congestion within the Qty;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Qty Council of the Qty of Arroyo Grande hereby grants and
bestov.s upon Willard C. Gieseke and Mr. LiJro, Inc. a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity,
effective January 1, 1987, upon full and total compliance with all the necessary requirements of
Mw1icipal COde QJapter 5-10.
