A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO
, GRANDE SETTING FORTH ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON
i A PORTION OF BRIGHTON AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE,
! AND FIXING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING AS PROVIDED
I BY GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 50430, ET SEQ
; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande elects to
i proceed with the vacation and abandonment of a portion of Brighton Avenue,
i pursuant to Section 50437 of the Government Code of the State of California;
I and
WHEREAS, it appears that Brighton Avenue is unnecessary for present
or prospective public use; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the abandonment is for the best interests
. of the pub 1 i c.
NOW, THEREFDRE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE that it intends to vacate and abandon the hereinafter
described portion of Brighton Avenue in the City of Arroyo Grande, County
of San Luis Obispo, State of California. For this purpose, the City
Council will hold a Public Hearing in connection with said intention
to vacate and abandon the hereinafter described portion of Brighton
Avenue, which hearing will be held in the Council Chambers, 215 East
Branch Street, Arroyo Grande, on the 11th day of November, 1986, at
the hour of 8:DO P.M. at said time and place, those persons interested
in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment may appear
and be h~ard.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo
Grande be, and is herewith directed to cause to be posted along said
portion of Brighton Avenue at intervals not to exceed three hundred
feet (300') in distance apart and at least three (3) in number on said
road, notices of passage of Resolution, which said notices shall be
entitled "NOTICE OF INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF BRIGHTON
AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, COUNTY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO, STATE
OF CALIFORNIA."
In addition thereto, the City Clerk is herewith ordered and directed
to cause a copy of said Resolution to be published at least two successive
weeks prior to the hearing in the newspaper of general circulation within
the City, which publication shall be at least ten (10) days prior to
the date of said hearing,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a portion of Brighton Avenue, which the
City of Arroyo Grande proposes to vacate and abandon, is more particularly
described as follows:
That portion'pf Brighton Avenue lying adjacent to the south
line of Block 49 of the Town of Grover, according to the map
recorded in Book A, Page 50f Maps, in the office of the Recorder
of San Luis_Obispo County, described as follows:
I Beginning at the southwest corner of Tract 1309, according
to the map recorded in Book 12, Page 51 of Maps, said corner
being on a line which is parallel with and 20.00 feet south
i of south line of said Block; thence, along said parallel line,
N 860 42' 40" W 308,41 feet to the beginning of a curve to
the right having a radius of 24.00 feet and which is tangent
to a line parallel with and 3,00 east of the west line of said
Block; thence, along said curve through a central angle of
800 24' 21" a distance of 33,68 feet to the south line of said
I Block, a radial bearing to which point hears S 830 41' 41"
I W; thence, along said south Block line S 860 42' 40" E
332.07 feet to the west line of said Tract 1309; thence,
along last said line, S 30 16' 00" W 20.00 feet to the
I Point of Beginning.
Reserving therefrom an easement for curb return Public Utilities,
I Water and Sewer,

Further particulars as to the proposed vacation and abandonment are
shown on the map pertaining thereto on file in the Office of the City
Clerk of "the City of Arroyo Grande, California.
On motion of Councilmember Johnson, seconded by Councilmember
Moots, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Gallagher, Johnson, Moots and Porter
NOES: None
ABSENT: Mayor Smith
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 14th day of October
1986.
