RESOLUTION NO. 1961
A RESOLUTION OF TIlE CIlY COUNCIL OF THE CIlY OF
ARROYO GRANDE REQUESfING AUTIiORIZATION TO CLOSE A
CIlY SI'REET
WHEREAS, the Diamond Jubilee Coomittee of the City of Arroyo Grande has requened
closure of a portion of Branch Street (Highway 227) in the City of Auoyo Grande, State of Califoroia,
for a short period of time; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the closure will be for purposes of conducting a parade in
conjunction with the City of Auoyo Grande's Diamond Jubilee Celebration with said parade to be held
between 9:30 A.M. and 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 12, 1986; and
WHEREAS, the Auoyo Grande Police Department will arrange for signing, detouring of
traffic and all traffic control during the petiod of time that said street is requested for closure,
NOW, TIlEREFORE, THE CIlY COUNCIL OF TIlE CIlY OF ARROYO GRANDE
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. !bat request be made of the State of CalifonUa Department of Transpottation for
permission to close a portion of Branch Street, also kno'Ntl as Highway 227, !tom U.s. 101 to Stanley
Avenue, on the 12th day of July, 1986, between the hours of 9:30 A.M. and 12:00 Noon.
2. !bat the City Council authorizes closure of said street upon receipt of approval from the
State Department of Transportation to said closure.
3. !bat the Arroyo Grande Police Department will control traffic around the parade route
and its officers will be stationed to give instructions to motorists on detouring the parade route; and,
further, the Police Department will restrict tuffic on Route 227 to one lane and control tuffic at the
freeway ramps frOOl 9:30 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 12, 1986.
On motion of Councilmember Johnson, seconded by Councilmember Moots, and on the following
roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Mayor 9nith and Counrl1memhers Gallagher, Johnson, Moots and Porter
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 27th day of May, 1986.
