RESOLUTION NO. 1950
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE REQUESTING A HEARING BY THE LOCAL
AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION (LAFCO) FOR AN
AMENDMENT TO THE CITY OF .ARROYO GRANDE SPHERE
OF INFLUENCE AND URBAN SERVICE AREA
WHEREAS, by action adopted by LAFCO in May, 1983, established the
City of Arroyo Grande's sphere of influence; and
WHEREAS, on October 13, 1980, prior to the establishment of the Sphere
of Influence by LAFCO, the City of Arroyo Grande agreed by contract
to provide the Central Coast Christian Academy property, identified
by County Assessor's Parcel No. 79-261-06, with City services for an
educational facility; and
WHEREAS, the Central Coast Christian Academy and the City of Arroyo
Grande's existing Sphere of Influence located north of Oak Park Boulevard
are separated by a parcel of property in Oak Park Acres, approximately
155 acres in size, identified by County Assessor's Parcel No. 79-261-
11; and
WHEREAS, amending the City of Arroyo Grande's Sphere of Influence
and urban service area to include the Central Coast Christian Academy
and Oak Park Acres properties are necessary prior to the action of
annexation of the property; and
WHEREAS, it is determined that amending the City's Sphere of Influence
and urban service area will require a full environmental determination
to be completed prior to the action of _annexation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Government Code Section
56428, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande, in the name of
the Central Coast Christian Academy and Oak Park Acres, hereby apply
for an amendment of the City of Arroyo Grande's Sphere of Influence
and in respect to this application request a hearing and consideration
by LAFCO.
On motion of Councilmember Gallagher, seconded by Councilmember
Johnson, and by the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Mayor Smith and Councilmembers Gallagher, Johnson, Moots and Porter
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 22nd day of April,
1986.
