RESOLUTION NO. 1949
A RESOLUTION OF 1HE Cl1Y COUNen. OF 1HE Cl1Y
OF ARROYO GRANDE ADOP'IlNG 1HE SAFETY AND
SEISMIC SAFE1Y RT .RMF.NT OF 1HE GENERAL PLAN.
WHEREAS, Section 65302 (i) and Section 65302 (f) of the California Government Code
directs all cities and counties to prepare a Safety' and Seismic Safety Element; and
WHEREAS, the Oty has determined that it is appropriate and necessary to update and
revise previous safety and seismic safety pJam adopted by the Oty; and
WHEREAS, the PJanning Ccrmission and Oty CoWlCil have held public hearings on a
new Safety and Seisnic Safety Element in accordance with the California GoverruTIent Code and
General Plan Amenc:lrrent regulations of the Oty; and
WHEREAS, the PJanning Oxmlission and Oty Council have considered public testiIrony
and technical Infonnation prepared by staff covering goals, policies, and prog1'BmJ and including
analysis of the Oty's emergency prepardness prog1'am and a program implementation; and
WHEREAS, the Oty Cbuncil inteOOs to re-examine the Safety and Seisnic SBfety
Element periodically to evaluate the effects of prog1'BmJ and to consider new Information.
NOW, 'l1IEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Oty Council of the Oty of Arroyo
Grande as follo\\5:
1. 'The SBfety and Seisnic SBfety Element of the Oty of Arroyo Grande General
Plan, as required by California Government Code Sections 65302 (I) and (f) is
adopted. The text of said adopted element is aveilable in the Oty Hall Ple.nning
Department.
2. The PJanning Department shall publish and make available to the public said
element and shall distribute copies to ~te merrbers of Oty government, to
the Califa-nia Office of Hanning and Research, other ap(rO(K"iate agencies and
local libraries;
3. The adoption of this Element shall take effect thirty (30) days from the date of
adoption of this Resolution.

the following roll call vote, to wit:
