RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
DESIGNATING A LANDMARK TREE 86-28
WHEREAS, Sec.l0-3,06 of the Municipal Code of the City of A~~oyo
Grande provides for the preservation and protection of certain trees in
order to produce a more desirable, pleasing and beautiful community and
to maintain and enhance community historic, cultural and property
t)alues, as well a.s to promote the public health, safety, comfort, and
we 1 f ~~r e ; and
l.JHEREAS, th i s tree at the Corner of Ash St.& Elm St.. in the Ci ty
of Arroyo Grande, and as located and identified on the map attached to
this resolution\-has been examined by the Parks and Recreation Director
of the City of Arroyo Grande and has been found to be a Coast Live OaK;
and
WHEREAS, this tree, ~ue to ~ts age, species, configur~tion, and
historical value meets criteria Tor LandmarK tree designation as
determined bY the Parks and Recreation Director and Planning Commission;
and
~JHEREAS , the Parks and Recreation Comm i 5-':' ion of the City of Arroyo
Grande recommends to the Ci ty Counc i I that th i s tree should be preserved
and protected and designated as a LandmarK tree.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande hereby
desiQnates this tree as a LandmarK Tree and directs that i t sh.~.11 be
monumented as Landmark Tree Number 86-28; and
FUF~THERMORE, th i s tree shall be protec ted, preserved a.nd m;'l i n t-;'I i ned
by the tree owner and subsequent tree Qwners and such tree shall not be
removed or destroyed by any party unless otherwise authorized by
Sec.l0-3.06 of the Municipal Code of the City of Arroyo Grande.
