OF mE CI'IY OF ARROYO GRANDE
DESlGNA11NG A LANDMARK 'IREE 8S-5
WHEREAS, Sec.10-3.06 of the Mmicipal Code of the Qty of Arroyo Grande (X'Ovides fer the
preservation and (X'Otection of certain trees in crder to produce a more desirable, ~ing and
beautiful coommity and to mrlntain and enhance COIIIJIIIIIity historic, cultural and property values, as
well as to prorrote the public health, safety, cOO1lort, and weJfare; and
WHEREAS, this tree on Jot mower sixteen of the Le Point Addition V to the Qty of Arroyo
[ Grande, and as located 800 identified on the map attached to this resolution, has been examined by the
Parks and Recreation Director of the Qty of Arroyo Grande and has been found to be a live oak; and

{ WHEREAS, this tree, due to its age, species, configuration, and historical value meets
criteria for LaridnJJrk tree designation as detennined by the Parks and Recreation Director and
Planning CoIIInission; and
WHEREAS, the Planning OmnIssion of the Qty of Arroyo Grande recu......KB to the Qty
Council that this tree should be (I'8Se1'Ved and (X'Otected and designated as a Landmark tree.
NOW 'lHEREFORE, the Qty Council of the Qty of Arroyo Grande hereby designates this
tree as a LaridnJJrk 'II:ee and directs that it shall be rronumented as LaOOnark 'II:ee NmDer 85-5; and
FUR'lHERMORE, this tree shall be protected, preserved and maintained by the tree owner
and sumequent tree owners and such tree shall not be rerroved or destroyed by any party unless
otherwise authorized by Sec. 10-3.06 of the Mmicipal Code of the Qty of Arroyo GraOOe.
On rrotion of Council Menber Gallagher, seconded by CoWlCil Menber Moots, and on the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Mayer Smith, Council MenDers Johnson, Moots, Porter, and Gallagher,
NOES: None,
ABSENT: None,
