J RESOLUTION NO. 1759
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE SETTING FORTH ITS INTENTION
TO VACATE AND ABANDON A.PORTION OF HUASNA ROAD
IN THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, AND FIXING TIME
AND PLACE FOR HEARING AS PROVIDED BY STREETS
AND HIGHWAY CODE SECTION 8300, ET SEQ.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande elects to proceed
with the vacation and abandonment of a portion of Huasna Road, pursuant to
Sections 8320 and 8335 of the Streets & Highway Code of the State of California;
and
WHEREAS, it appears that said portion of Huasna Road is unnecessary for
present or prospective public use; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the abandonment is for the best interests of
the public;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE that it intends to vacate and abandon the hereinafter described portion
of Huasna Road, in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State
of Ca 1 i forn ia. For this purpose, the City Council will hold a public hearing
in connection with said intention to vacate and abandon the hereinafter described
portion of Huasna Road, which hearing will be held in the Council Chambers at
215 East Branch Street, Arroyo Grande, California on the 22nd day of May 1984,
at the hour of 8:00 P.M. At said time, those persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed vacation and abandonment may appear and be heard.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande be,
and is herewith directed to cause to be posted along said portion of Huasna Road
at intervals not to exceed three hundred feet (300') in distance apart and at
least three (3) in number on said Road, notices of passage of Resolution, which
said notices shall be entitled "NOTICE OF INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON A
PORTION.OFHUASt~ ROAD, IN THE CITY OF ARROYO ~RANDE, COUNTY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO,
STATE OF CALI FORti I A" .
In addition ther.eto, the City Clerk is herewith ordered and directed to
cause a copy of said Resolution to be published at least two successive weeks
prior to the hearing in a newspaper of general circulation within the City of
Arroyo Grande, which publication shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the
date of said hearing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the portion of Huasna Road, which the City of
Arroyo Grande proposes to vacate and abandon, reserving therefrom rights of way
for utilities including water, sewer and drainage, more particularly described
as follows:
That portion of Lot 2 of Harris and Hinchliffe's Subdivision of land
of D. F. and Anna Newsom, in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of
San Luis Obispo, California, as described in the deed to the County
of San Luis Obispo recorded in Book 1359 of Official Records at
Page 733, described as follows:
Commencing at the most northerly corner of Tract 984, as recorded in
Book 11 of Maps at Page 9; thence, along the northwesterly line of
said Tract and its projection, which line is also the southeasterly
right of way of Huasna Road, S. 440 00' 01" w. 311.96 feet to the
beginning of a curve concave to the northwest with a radius of
1042 feet, and being the true point of beginning; thence, south-
westerly along said curve 295.24 feet to its intersection with the
northwesterly lot line of said Lot 2; thence, along said lot line,
S. 440 DO' 01" \'/.91.78 feet to its intersection with the southerly
right of way of Huasna Road as described in the above said deed;
thence, along said right of way S. 600 02' 51" E. 58.97 feet,
N. 840 50' 44" E. 34.15 feet, N. 120 50' 58" W. 86.51 feet,
N. 590 41' 41" E. 158.61 feet, and N. 400 38' 49" E. 143.20 feet
to the point of beginning. (See Exhibit "A")
Further particulars as to the proposed vacation and abandonment are shown
on the map pertaining thereto on file in the office of the City Clerk of the
City of Arroyo Grande.
