R 1736 ~ RESOLUTION NO. 1736 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE ESTABLISHING DESIGN POLICY MODIFYING CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS B4 AND B5 WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to create a more pleasing and safe community in which to live, and WHEREAS, it is necessary from time to time to adopt City construction standards to accomplish the aforementioned, and WHEREAS, its standards are considered to be a minimum to insure compliance, and WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande has adopted construction standards for driveway grades B4 and B5, and WHEREAS, a special committee chaired by William R. Sommermeyer has reviewed said standards for possible revision and reported to the City Council at their regul~r meeting of December 13, 1983, that the standards are appropriate and should be considered as ultimate guidelines for hardship cases to minimize extraneous grading, BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that it be the policy of the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande that wherever possible building designers and engineers should attempt to maximize a parking area adjacent to garages when laying out dwellings and their drive access to the public street. On motion by Council Member Gallagher, seconded by Mayor Smith and on the following roll call vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Vandeveer, Gallagher, Millis, Hogan and Mayor Smith NOES: None ABSENT: None the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 10th day of January 1984. i3'~~1; MAYOR ATTEST: I, Virginia L.
