RESOLUTION NO. 1692
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1668
ESTABLISHING A MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM COMPENSATION
BY ADOPTING A SALARY SCHEDULE AND POSITION
CLASSIFICATIONS AND SALARY STEPS WITHIN THE
RESPECTIVE RANGES OF THE SALARY SCHEDULE,
DESCRIBING METHODS OF ADVANCEMENT AND
REPEALING PREVIOUS SALARY RESOLU110NS
WHEREAS, this City Council has determined that a wage survey
has been made of the compensation of the position of Police Chief; and
WHEREAS, this Council d~ems it n~cessary to adjust the compensation
for said position to equitably pay the incumbent; and
WHEREAS, this Council conc~udes the incumbent in said position
has been inadequately compensated since reassuming the responsibilities
of the position on February 7, 1983.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Police Chief compensation
range shall be increased from range number 45 to range number 49t. Range
number 49t shall be added to Exhibit A of Resolution No. 1668 to read
as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that':Council directs that the incumbent
in the position shall receive retroactive pay based upon range number 49t
retroactive to February 7, 1983.
On motion of Council Member Millis, seconded by Council Member
Hogan, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Vandeveer, Gallagher, Millis, Hogan, Mayor Smith
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 22nd day of March, 1983.
