A RESOLUTION OF THE CI'rY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF .
ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF
THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE ON THE 2ND DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1982, DECLARING
THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE
PROVIDED BY LAW
WHEREAS, a general election, consolidated with the County-wlde
general election, was held In the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis
Obispo, State of California, on Tuesday, November 2, 1982; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given
In time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were
properly established; that election officers were appointed and that
In all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast
thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared In time,
form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the
State of California for the holding of elections In cities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 1554, adopted the 27th day
of July, 1982, the County Clerk -of' the County of San Luis Obispo canvassed
the returns of said election and has certified the results to this City
Council, said results are received, attached and made a part hereof as
Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE,
CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECn ON I: That there were nine (9) precincts established for
the purpose of holding said election consisting of consolidations of the
regular election precincts In the City of Arroyo Grande established for the
holding of state and county elections.
SECTION 2: That at said general election, the following measures
were;submltted to the electors of said City, to wit:
MEASURE E: Shall the electors elect a mayor and four city
counci I members?
MEASURE F: Shall the term of office of mayor be two years?
MEASURE G: Shall the term of office of mayor be four years?
SECTION 3: That the whole number of votes cast in said City
(except absent voter ballots) was Four Thousand and Forty-nine (1t649).
That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said City
was Five Hundred and Sixty (560), making a total of Five Thousand Two Hundred
and Nine (5209) votes cast in said City.
SECTI ON 4: That the measures voted upon at said election is as
set forth under Section 2 of this resolution.
That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number
of votes given in the City for and against the measures were as listed In
Exhibit A.

SECTION 5: The City Council does declare and determine that:
As a result of said election, a majority of the qua1ified
voters voting on said measures relating to the e1ection of
a mayor and four city council members and the tenm of office
of the mayor, voted in favor thereof and deemed that
a mayor and four city council members be ele~ted and the
term of mayor sha11 be two years.
SECTION 6: The Ci ty C1er.k shall enter on the records of the
City Council of said City, a statement of the result of said election showing:
1) The whole number of votes case in the City;
2) The measures voted upon;
3) The number of votes given at each precinct for and against
the measures; and
4) The number of votes given In the City for and against each measure.
SECTION 7: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of the resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original
Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City,
in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.

the returns of the votes cast at said General Election held on
November 2, 1982, in the County of San Luis Obispo, and that a
xerox copy of the Statement of Votes Cast (the original of which
is on file in the Office of the County Clerk), to which this
certificate is attached, shows the number of votes cast in said
County for and against said measure, for each candidate for the
office of director, and that the totals shown for and against said
measure, and for each candidate for the office of director in

full, true and correct:
