I RESOLUTION NO. 1665
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING OF
THE CONTRACT FOR FUNDS UNDER THE CALIFORNIA
SAFE DRINKING WATER BOND LAW OF 1976 AND
DESIGNATING PERSON TO SIGN REQUESTS FOR
DISBURSEMENTS AND PARTIAL PAY ESTIMATES
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande has applied for funds under
the r.alifornla Safe Drinking Water Bond Law of 1976; and
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Water Resources,
has found the City of Arroyo Grande eligible for a loan In the amount of
$770,000 and .expects that this amount will be available to the City for
a 35 year period at approximately 8.5 percent; and
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande has an existing problem with
excessive nitrate concentrations In domestic water production from Its
operating wells which would be remedied through blending of the City's
well water with higher quality domestic production; and
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande lacks the funds neccessary
to construct appropriate facilities to accomplish upgrading of the quality
of the City's well water; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Health Department has mandated that
i the City upgrade the quality of any domestic production which Is Intended
i for use In the public water supply for public consumption.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Arroyo Grande that this body accepts the loan contract and authorizes
Mayor B'Ann Smith to execute said Contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Public Works Director/City Engineer
Paul J. Karp is hereby authorized to sign the request for disbursements
and approve partial payment estimates.
On motion of Council Member Hogan , seconded by Council Member
Gallagher , and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Vandeveer, Gallagher, Millis, Hogan, Mayor Smith
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 14th day of September, 1982.
