CLOSE DOWN! 845 Covid-19 cases is too many, especially since it was sheer negligence and totally unnecessary! Stop listening to the Trump administration. Obviously Trump only cares about himself and getting re-elected. Don't take that approach locally. More than 50% of the country and SLO County' did not and do not support Trump, nor do they believe his lies. Be proactive, do what's right for the health of County residents: CLOSE BARS AND DINE-IN RESTAURANTS MANDATE MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING AND ENFORCE THE MANDATE PROHIBIT LARGE GATHERINGS AND ENFORCE IT PUT OCCUPANCY LIMITS ON HOTELS/MOTELS AND ENFORCE THEM MANDATE COOPERATION WITH CONTACT TRACING EFFORTS AND FINE THOSE WHO DON'T DO NOT OPEN SCHOOLS UNTIL TRUMP PUTS HIS KIDS AND GRANDKIDS IN AN UNDER-FUNDED PUBLIC SCHOOL This is a quote from Penny Borenstein in the Tribune this afternoon regarding the third death in the county from Covid-19: “This loss is a reminder that we must do all we can to protect those who are most vulnerable. They matter and they are important. It’s up to each of us to do our part.” I don't see anything in this quote that indicates county and city leadership doesn't need to do all they "can to protect those who are most vulnerable". The lack of leadership at the federal level should not trickle down to our local leadership. Don't wait for Governor Newsom to shut this county down; be proactive, do it now! Another thing that I would like to point out is there is never any mention of the impact Covid-19 has on the health of survivors. Perhaps rather than always saying our death rate is low, more should be said about the impact on the health of survivors. Please take the actions necessary to prevent the further the spread of Covid-19 now! Several well-respected doctors have already sounded the alarm that we are approaching the point of no return.
