A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIDN TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 1982, WITH THE STATE-WIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE PURSUANT TO SECTION 23302 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande called a Special Municipal Election in said city to be held on November 2, 1982, for the purpose of subml tt i ng to the qua 11 fi ed voters of sa i d city the following measures relating to: 1. The election of Mayor 2. Transient Occupancy Tax increase; and WHEREAS, it Is desirable that said special municipal election be consolidated with the State-wide General Election to be held on the same date and that within said city the precincts, polling places and election officers of the two elections be the same, and that the County Clerk of the County of San LuIs Obispo canvass the returns of the special municipal election and that said State-wide General Election, and the special municipal election be held In all respects as If there were only one election; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: That pursuant to the requirements of Section 23302 of the Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Luis Obispo be and It is hereby requested to consent and agree to the consolidation of a special municipal election with the State-wide General Election on November 2, 1982, for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the City of Arroyo Grande, four measures to appear on the ballot as follows: Proposition I I~:s I I Shall the ejectors elect a mayor and four city council members? Proposition 2 I ~:s I I Shall the term of office of mayor be two years? Proposition 3 I ~~s I I Shali the term of office of mayor be four years? Propos i tlon 4 I~~s I I Shall the present ordinance providing for a 6% transient occupancy tax be amended to increase said tax to 9%, with the tax revenue to be divided In a ratio of 50% to Park Department expenditures and 50% to Police Department expenditures? SECTION 2: Said County Clerk is hereby authorized to canvass the returns of said special municipal election which It is hereby requested to consolidate with said State-wide General Election and said election shall be held In all respects as If there were only one election, and only one " form of ballot shall be used. ~- ---" ----- --- -__.__m_ �- ... 11 SECTION 6: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which time the same is passed and adopted. SECTION 7: That this Resolution shall take effect immediately.
