RESOLUTI ON NO. 1537 .
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE APPROVING PHASE ONE OF THE
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY ARTS PLAN
WHEREAS, the California Arts Council has established the State/Local
Partnership Program with all the counties and some large cities in the State
of California; and
WHEREAS, the County of San Luis Obispo entered into this program
over a year ago and identified the fledgling San Luis Obispo County Arts
Council as the designated ag~ncy to the Local Partner and, as a result
of this, the local Arts Council was awarded a $12,000 Bloc Grant for planning
from the state; and
WHEREAS. in order to fulfill the requirements of the grant, the
San Luis Obispo County Arts Council has prepared Phase One of a County Arts
Plan; and

WHEREAS, the Plan describes how the Arts Council functions and
develops its programming and planning as well as explains its policy on
expending funds, and details the effort and expenditures made by the city,
county governments, public schools, and donors to the arts In the county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Arroyo Grande hereby approves Phase One of the San Luis Obispo County Arts
Plan which enables the San Luis Obispo County Arts Council to implement the
Arts Plan in the county.
On motion of Council Member Vandeveer, seconded by Cbuncil Member
Gallagher, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Vandeveer. Gallagher, Millis, Hogan, Mayor Smith
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 27th day of Apri 1. 1982.
