RESOLUTION NO. 1530
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE HONORING ROBERT H. "BOB" NEWDOLL
FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE CITY OF
GROVER CITY
WHEREAS, ROBERT H. "BOB" NEWDOLL Is leavIng public service to
the City of Grover City after seventeen years; and
WHEREAS, BOB was appointed to the Planning Commission in June of
1965 and became Chairman in February of 1966; and
WHEREAS, BOB was appointed to the City Council In June of 1966
to fill an unexpired term and was reelected In 1970, 1974, and 1978; and
WHEREAS, he served as Mayor of the City of Grover City from 1970-72
and from 1980-82; and
WHEREAS, during the past seventeen years BOB has been actively
involved in the following projects and committees which have benefited the
City of Grover City and the entire South County of San Luis Obispo:
Member of the South Central Coast Regional Commission from Its inception
in 1971-72; Past Member of the Jaycees; Chosen "Young Man of the Year"
for the Five Cities Jaycees in 1967; Listed In the 1968 Edition of "Outstanding
Young Men of Amer I ca"; Served as a Board of Director for South County Area
Transit (SCAT); Serves as a director of the South County Economic Development
Association (SCEDA); Serves as a member of the Grover City Chamber of Commerce,
the Pismo Beach Lions Club, and the Oceano Elks Lodge; and has served
several other organizations which Include the South County Youth Foundation,
the Contractor's Association, the Grover City Boosters, and the St. Patrick's
Parents Club.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS,
That it recognizes the accomplishments of ROBERT H. "BOB" NEWDOLL
as Council Member and Mayor of the City of Grover City and as a devoted
citizen to his community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande wishes continued health, contentment and good wishes to BOB NEWDOLL.
On motion of Council Member Smith, seconded by Council Member Hogan,
and on the fo 110wi ng roll ca 11 vote, to wi t:

the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 13th day of April, 1982.
