RESOLUTION NO. 1523
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR ANNEXATION
OF THE STEM AREA TO THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
WHEREAS, a proposal for annexation to the City of Arroyo Grande
was filed with the San Luis Obispo County Local Agency Formation Commission;
and
WHEREAS, by Its Resolution 82-2, dated January 12, 1982, the Local
Agency Formation Commission made determinations approving the annexation
and authorized the City to Initiate proceedings to annex such territory; and
WHEREAS, the preliminary proceedings for the annexation of the
Stem Area to the City of Arroyo Grande were commenced by the City of Arroyo
Grande to comply with a condition of the formation of the Oceano Community
Services ~istrict (LAFCO File 4-R-80); and
WHEREAS, that LAFCO determined the territory to be annexed is
uninhabited and that any landowner In the territory to be annexed has
the right to file a written protest at any time prior to conclusion of
the hearing; and
WHEREAS, on January 21, 1982, LAFCO recommended approval of the
annexation without any terms or conditions of the following area known as the
Stem Annexation:
All of Lots 14, 17, and 18, and part of Farroll Avenue, 50 foot
in width, In the County of San Luis Obispo, State of California,
according to the map of Pismo Beach Gardens, filed September 3,
1924 in Book 3 of Maps at page 45 In the office of the County
Recorder of said County, described as follows: ,
Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Lot 17, being
a corner of the Westerly I ine of the corporate limits of the Ci ty
of Arroyo Grande, said corner being also the Northwest corner of
Tract No. 398 In the City of Arroyo Grande, recorded In Book 7,
Page 43 of Maps in said County;
Thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said Lot 17,
said easterly line being also the Westerly line of the corporate
limits of said city, South 0002'00" East, 743.32 feet to the
centerline of Farroll Avenue;
Thence North 89045'30" East, 46.39 feet along said centerline
of farroll Avenue to its Intersection with the Northerly prolongation
of the Easterly line of Lot IB, of said Plsmo Beach Gardens; said
centerline being also the line of the corporate limits of the said city;
Thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said Lot IB,
South, 756.00 feet to the Southeast corner thereof, said Easterly
line beIng also the Westerly line of the corporate limits of said city;
Thence leaving the Westerly line of the corporate limits of
said city, West, 577.00 feet to the Southwest corner of said Lot 18;
Thence North, 781.00 feet to the Northerly right of way of
Farroll Avenue;
Thenc~ West, 653.00 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 14,
of said Pismo Beach Gardens, said corner being a corner on the Easterly
corporate limits of the City of Grover City;

Thence North, 719.60 feet along the Westerly line of
said Lot 14. of said line being also a corporate limit line of
the City of Grover City, to the Northwest corner of said Lot 14;
Thence North 89056'17" East, 59.71 feet along the corporate
limit line of the City of Grover City to the common corner of
corporate limits of the City of Arroyo Grande and the City of
Grover City;
Thence North 89056' 17" East, 1111.11 feet along the Southerly
corporate limit line of the City of Arroyo Grande, to the true
point of beginning.
The last two mentioned courses being also the Northerly
lines of Lots 14 and 17 of said Pismo Beach Gardens. Containing
30.67 acres more or less.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES
.HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1) That the City Council will hold a public hearing on
Tuesday, March 23, 1982, at 8:00 P.M. in the Counci I Chambers,
215 E. Branch Street, concerning the Stem Annexation,
prezoned Planned Development.
On motion of Council Member Hogan, seconded by Council Member
Vandeveer, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hogan, Millis, Vandeveer, Mayor Pope
NOES: Council Member Smith
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 23rd day of February, 1982.
