RESOLUTION NO. 1490
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE, CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF SAN LU I S .OB I SPO TO CONSOL I DATE
A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO BE
HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 1981, WITH THE SCHOOL' DISTRICT
GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER ELECTIONS AND GENERAL
DISTRICT ELECTIONS TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE
PURSUANT TO SECTION 23302 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande called a
[ Special Municipal Election in said city to beheld on November 3, 198T,
for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said city two
measures relating to rezoning certain property known as Grande Highlands
and prezoning certain unincorporated territory adjoining the City of
Arroyo Grande known as the Wells Property, as hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that said special municipal election be
consolidated with the School District Governing Board Member Elections and I
General District Elections to be held on the same date and that within - \
said city the precincts, polling places and election officers of the
two elections be the same, and that the County Clerk of the County of
San L~is Obispo canvass the returns of the special municipal election
and that said S'chool District Governing Board Member Elections, the General
District Elections, and the special municipal election be held In an
respects as if there were only one election;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE. CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECT! ON I: That pursuant to the requirements of Section 23302
of the Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Luis
Obispo be and it is hereby requested to consent and agree to the consolidation
of a special municipal election with the School District Governing Board
Member elections' and the general district elections on Tuesday, 'November 3,
1981, for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the City of Arroyo
Grande, two measures to appear on the ballot as follows:
Shall the ordinance amending a portion of the
zoning map of the City of Arroyo Grande
referred to in Section .302 of Title 9,
Chapter 4, of the Municipal Code so as to YES
rezone certain property in the City of NO
Arroyo Grande known as Grande Highlands
from "A" Agricultural to "P-D" Planned
Development zone be adopted?
Shall the ordinance prezoning certain
unincorporated territory adjoining the
[ City of Arroyo Grande to "P-D" YES
Planned Development District, pursuant
to Government Code Section 65859 NO
and Arroyo Grande Municipal Code
Section 9-4.3209 known as the Wells
Property be adopted?
SECTI ON 2: Said County Clerk is hereby authorized to canvass the
returns of said special municipal election which it is hereby requested to
consolidate with said School District Governing Board Member'election and
General District Election and said election shall be held in all respects ..
as if there were only one election, and only one form of ballot shall be used.

SECTION 3: Said Board of Supervisors is hereby requested to
issue instructions to the County Clerk to take any and all steps necessary
for the holding of said consolidated e1ection.
SECTION 4: The City of Arroyo Grande recognizes that additional
costs wi11 be incurred by the County by reason of this consolidation
and agrees to reimburse the County for any such costs.
SECTION 5: That the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande is
hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Board
of Supervisors and the County Clerk of the County of San Luis Obispo.
