R 5067 RESOLUTION NO. 5067 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE APPROVING ARROYO GRANDE COMMUNITY SERVICE GRANT PROGRAM AWARDS FOR YEAR 2021 WHEREAS, on September 23, 2014,the City Council created the Community Service Grant Program (CSGP) and annually allocates $ 20,000 to implement the program; and WHEREAS, on March 14, 2017, the City Council renamed the Community Service Grant Program the Jim Guthrie Community Service Grant Program (JGCSGP); and WHEREAS, on June 9, 2020, the City Council changed the name of the Jim Guthrie Community Service Grant Program back to the Community Service Grant Program (CSGP); and WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an additional $25,000 of CARES Act funding was allocated to the CSGP by the City Council, in addition to reallocating $5,000 from the Arroyo Grande Tourism Business Improvement District budget,for a total of$50,000 in grant funds for Year 2021; and WHEREAS, the City received a total of sixteen (16) applications requesting a total of $127,435 for the 2021 CSGP; and WHEREAS, the City Council established a CSGP Grant Committee (the "Committee") consisting of one member from each of the City's current advisory boards and the South County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; and WHEREAS,the Committee convened via videoconference on March 4,2021, in compliance with all applicable laws and orders, including the Ralph M. Brown Act as modified by the Governor's Executive Order N-29-20, to review the applications and recommended funding allocations, as set forth in Exhibit "A," attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference; and WHEREAS, on March 23, 2021, the City Council considered the recommendations of the Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande hereby approves funding for the 2021 CSGP projects as set forth in Exhibit "A," subject to all of the rules, requirements, and regulations applicable to the CSGP and its grant recipients.
