R 1471 ULL /". .- RESOLUTION NO. t47l A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF . ARROYO GRANDE SUPPORTING DISSOLUTION OF ITS JO I NT 'POWERS AGREEMENT WITH THE MONTEREY BAY AREA REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has methodically considered the status of the Center, and WHEREAS, the City Counci 1 of the City of Arroyo Grande has carefulty explored implications of retaining the Joint Powers Agreement I I aft~r closing center operation, and I WHEREAS, continuation of the Joint Powers Agreement requires a variety of commitments exemplified by but not limited to retaining liability insurance, providing for annual or semi~annual audits~ holding regular meetings,. and bonding of officers empowered to use the Joint Powers Agreement, and WHEREAS, in the. light of the Board of Directors' of the Monterey Bay Area Regional Training Center intention to close center operations and the opinion that a less structured collaborative forum for the exchange of training resources can become existent, and WHEREAS, a two-thirds majority vote of member agency representatives is required to dissolve the Joint Powers Agreement 90 days following the casting of said vote, NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved .that the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande will demonstrate the dissolution of its enabling Joint Powers Agreement no tater than May 15, 1981 which will allow for dissolution August 15, 1981. On motion of Council Member Smith, seconded by Council Member Vandeveer, and on the following rotl call vote, to wit: AYES: Council Members Smith, Hogan, Millis, Vandeveer, and Mayor Pope NOES: None ABSENT: None the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 12th day of May, 1981.
