RESOLUTION NO. 1429
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE C,TY
OF ARROYO GRANDE HONORING SENATOR ROBERT P.
NIMMO UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, SENATOR ROBERT P. NIMMO will be honored at a testimonial
dinner on September 27, 1980, and
WHEREAS, SENATOR NIMMO has always administered his position with
professionalism, efficiency, and diplomacy, and
WHEREAS, SENATOR NIMMO is a native Californian; served three tours
of duty with the United States Army; has been a rancher and businessman for I
much of his life; was elected to State Assembly in 1972 and was re-elected in
1974; in 1976 was elected to the State Senate and by 1979 was appointed to the
Senate Rules Committee and served on the Senate Finance Committee, and
WHEREAS, the City Counc i1 of the City of Arroyo G randei"s ':\ ,
appreciative of SENATOR NIMMO'S dedication to the citizens of this district, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande wishes to
take this opportunity to express itself toward this end.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

That it recognizes the accomplishments and retirement of ROBERT P.
NIMMO as SENATOR of this district.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande hereby wishes continued health and contentment to ROBERT P. NIMMO in
his retirement.
On motion of Council Member Vandeveer, seconded by Council Member
Smith, and on the following rollcall vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Smith, Hogan, Mi11is, Vandeveer, and Mayor Pope
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 23rd day of September, 1980.
