RESOLUTION NO. 112!
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING CALIFORNIA CRIME WATCH
AND THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S PLAN TO RESTORE PUBLIC
SAFETY IN THE 1980'S.
WHEREAS, one United States household In five has been hit by crime
at least once in the last 12 months, with either property stol,n or a member
of the household the victim of a physical assault, according to the findings
of a Gallup poll released in December 1979; and
WHEREAS, the Gallup survey findings paraUel the upturn in crimes
reported by the Federal Bureau of Investigation which reported Increases In '.
every kind of major crime for the first six months of 1979; and
WHEREAS, there has been Insufficient public'attentionto the rights
and plight of crime victims In our society and to effective crime prevention
programs to reduce the numbers of crime victims; and
i WHEREAS, It 15 essential to inform the public of and broaden the avall-

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT: RESOLVED BY theCityCouncU of,theClty of Arroyo
Grande as follows:

That, 'in recognition of the foregoIng and the 'manctete' c;on~alned
in artIcle V, section 13 of the California Constitution, which ,
proclaims the Attorney General to be California's chief law I
officer: the City.Councll of the City of Arroyo Grande hereby I
takes this opportunity to endorse and support'CaHfornla Crime
Watch and the Attorney General's Plan',to Restore,Publ ic Safety
in the 80's.
