R 1327 ( ) RESOLUTION NO. 1327-- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, COMMENDING CITY, ADMINISTRATOR THOMAS M. BUTCH FOR HIS CONTINUING OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE. WHEREAS, THOMAS M. BUTCH will be celebrating his Fifteenth Anniversary on August I, 1978, as the City Administrator of the City of Arroyo Grande; and WHEREAS, he has been the guiding force In making Arroyo Grande the desirable Community we know today; and " WHEREAS, Tom has always administered his po~ition with professionalism, efficiency and diplomacy; and WHEREAS, Arroyo Grande has grown and prospered under his administration: and WHEREAS, during the last fifteen years, Tom has been actively involved in the following projects, which have benefIted this Community and the South County: Building of Lopez Dam and the Water Treatment Plant; building of the South County Sanitation District Plant and the sewering of all of Arroyo Grande; new Police Station: new Community Center (Woman's Club of Arroyo Grande Community Center); Encinas Bonita!! Park and started work on Strother Park; formation of the Parks & Recreation Commission as well as establishment of the Recreation Department; helped create "Youth In Government Day" for the benefit of this area's High School Students; formation of the Parking & Traffic Commission; dedication of the Fred Grieb Bridge; widening of Grand Avenue; Branch Street Improvement and undergroundlng of utilities; helped with the formation of the South County Area Transit System; planned for future needs of the City by organizing Town Meetings and a Civic Center Committee; assembling a highly professional City Staff; and annually preparing and administering the City's Budget in a prudent fashion so that our City Is in a healthy financial position; and WHEREAS, Tom's Community Service has gone beyond the boundaries of the City wfth his involvement in various organizations, including, but not limited to: the Office of Criminal Justice Planning, Region P, of which he is Chairman for the second year; League of California Cities; Greater Pismo Beach Kiwanis Club, which just named him "1978 Klwanian of the Year"; and Arroyo Grande Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande is proud and appreciative of Tom's dedication to this City and wishes to take this opportunity to express itself toward this end. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE OOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: That it recognizes the accomplishments of TOM BUTCH as the CITY ADMINISTRATOR of the CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE during the past fifteen years; and That the City Council hereby expresses its thanks and appreciation to TOM for the manner in which he has guided the City Councils and City Staffs over the past fifteen years to make this City the professionally administered and fiscally sound City that it is today. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande hereby expresses Its wholehearted support of TOM BUTCH as the City's Administra- tor, with wishes for continued health and contentment In his service to the City.
