R 1193 ~- ) -~ RESOLUT I ON NO. 1193 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, CAUFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNiCIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 2ND DAY OF MARCH, 1976, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID C I TV AS REQU I RED BY THE PROV I S IONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES, . WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to General Law CitIes in the State of California, a regular general munlc:lpal election shal1 be held on the 2nd day of March, 1976. for the election of three (3) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years, a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four yea rs, and a City Treasurer of sa i d CI ty for the fu,l1 term of four years; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECT! ON 1: That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of March, 1976, a regular general municipal election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing three (3) members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four Years; a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four years; and a City Treasurer of said City for the full term of four years, SECTION 2: That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalIa that may be necessary In order to properly and lawfully conduct said election. SECT! ON 4: That for the purpose of holding said regular general municipal election, there shall be and are hereby established four (4) voting precincts consisting of consolidations of the regular election precincts In the City of Arroyo Grande established for the holding of state and county elections, as said regular election precincts exist on the date of adoption of this resolution. That the polling places for the respective precincts shall be the places hereinafter designated; and that the persons hereinafter named, being competent and qualified ejectors and residents 6f s~ld City and of their respective voting precincts, are hereby appointed officers of election for their respective voting precincts and they shal1 hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided by law, Voting Precinct 1, comprising regular election precincts I, 2 and 4" Polling Place: Fire Station, 215 E. Mendez, 950 Huasna Road Voting Precinct 2, comprising regular election precincts 3, 6 and 7. Polling Place: Margaret Harloe Elementary School, 901 Fair Oaks Avenue Inspector: Mary Jane Montgomery, 533 Orchard Avenue .!udge: Georgie O'Connor, 310 W, Cherry Avenue Clerk: Rosie Woodards, 418 Orchard Street C \(;[<k, Eisabel Pena, 830 Pearl Drive :) Voting Precinct 3, comprising regular election precincts 5, 8 and 10, Polling Place: First Baptist Church, 310 N. Halcyon Road Inspector: Betty Clingman, 1183 Maple Street Judge: DeMova O. Allen, 169 Alder Street Clerk: Darold L. Clingman, 1183 Maple Street Clerk: Lyndel1 Moreno, 223 S. Elm Street Voting Precinct 4, comprising regular ele.ctlon precincts 9 and II. Polling Place: Grandmothers' Park-Recreation Hall, 1241 Farroll Avenue Inspector: Ellen St. Denis, 410 S. Elm Street Judge: Josephine M, Evers, 1139 Palm Court Clerk: Josephine H. Twiford, 1030 The Pike Clerk: Suslegln Jimenez, 228 Spruce Street SECTION 5: That the compensation of the persons hereinbefore named as election officers Is hereby fixed at the sum of Twenty-Nine Dollars ($29,00) for each Inspector and Twenty-Four Dol1ars ($24,00) for each Judge and Clerk for said election, The rental for each of such pol1lng places, where a charge Is made, shal1 be the sum of Twenty Dollars ($20,00) for said election. SECTIoN 6: That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock A,M, of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P,M. of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided In Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of Cal1fornla, SECTION 7. That In all particulars not recited In this Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding municipal elections In said City. SECTION 8: That notice of the time and place of holding said election Is, hereby given and the City Clerk Is hereby authorized, Instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election, In time, form and manner as required by law.
