RESOLUTION NO, 1132
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE REQUESTING THE STATE DEPARl'MENT OF TRANSPORTATION
AND THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO APPROVE THE
URBAN AREA BOUNDARY AI.1J) THE FEDERAL-AID URBAN STREET
SYSTEM FOR THE ARROYO GRANDE URBAN AREA,
WHEREAS, the' Congress of the United States has, in the Federal-Aid
Highway Act of 1973, declared it to be in the national interest for Federal
Funds to be expended for highway projects on the Federal-Aid Urban System; and
WHEREAS based on the 1970 Census, the Bureau of the Cens~s has

designated Arro:ro Grande as an Urban Area; and
WHEREAS, before Federal-Aid will be made available for Urban Syste~
projects ,dthin this Urban Area, the Urban Limits must be established and a
Federal-Aid Urban Road System must be designated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1, That the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande requests that
the Urban Area Limits and Federal.Aid Urban Road System, as shown on the
attached maps marked Exhibit "A", be approved by the State Department of
Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration.
2, Copies of this resolution be forwarded to Mr, Frank Gregory,
District Director, California Department of Transportation, District 5,
Post Office Box L, San Luis Obispo, California 93401,
On motion of Councilman Millis, seconded by Counoilman Spierling and on
the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Spierling, de Leon, Millis and Mayor Talley
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Schlegel
