r A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
SETTING FaiTH ITS INTENTION ro VACA,':rE, ABANDON AND CLOSE THAT
PARCEL OF PROPERTY DEDICATED FOR FU1URE ROAD PURPOSES LYING
BE1WEEN BLOCKS 2 AND 3, TRACT NO. 150, COM!f)NLY KNOWN AS "JOE"
STREET, AND FIXING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING AS PROVIDED FOR
BY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE SECTION 8320, ET SEQ.
WHEREAS, there now exis ts in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis
Obispo, State of California, a parcel of property dedicated for future road
purposes lying between Blockr 2 and Block: 3, Tract No, 150, commonly known as
"Joe" Street, not having been opened to public use; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande elects to proceed
with the vacation, abandoQrnent and closing of said street, commonly known as
"Joe" Street, pursuant to Section 8320, et seq, of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said street, commonly known as "Joe" Street, is
unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the abaridoQrnent and closing of said street is
for the best interest of the public,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL~D by the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande that it intends to abandon and close the hereinafter described street,
comnonly known'as "Joe" Street, in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis
Obispo, State of California, For this purpose, the City Council will hold a
hearing in connection with said intention to vacate, abandon and close the
hereinafter described street, commonly known as "Joe" Street, which hearing will
be held in the Council Chambers of the City Hall at 214 East Branch Street,
Arroyo Grande, California, on the 24th day of July, 1973, at the hour of 8:00 P.M.
At said time, those persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation,
abandonment and closing of said street may appear and be heard,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to the California Streets and
Highways Code Section 8330, et seq., that the City Council determines that
the public convenience and necessity require the reservation of an easement
for the purpose of drainage, water, sewer and utilities and the right to
construct, maintain, operate, replace, renew, remove and enlarge said lines,
including access thereto, said easement being described below.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande
be, and she is herewith directed to cause to be posted along said street,
comnonly known as "Joe" Street, at intervals not to exceed three hundred feet
(300') in distance apart and at least three (3) in number on said street,
notices of passage of Resolution, which said notices shall be entitled "Notice
of Intention to Vacate, Abandon and Close a Street between Blocks 2 and 3 of
Tract No, 150, Commonly Known as "Joe" Street, in the City of Arroyo Grande,
County of San Luis Obispo, State of California".
In addition thereto, the City Clerk is herewith ordered and directed to
cause a copy of said Resolution to ,be published at least once in the Five Cities
Times-Press-Recorder, a 'semi-weekly newspaper published and circulated in the
City of Arroyo Grande, which publication shall be at least fifteen (15) days
prior to the date of said hearing,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the parcel of property, dedicated for
future road purposes lying between !llockc 2 and Block: 3, Tract No, 150,
commonly known as "Joe" Street, which the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande proposes to vacate, abandon and close, is more particularly described
as follows, to wit:
In the City of Arroyo Grande, Coun~y of San Luis Obispo, State of
California, that certain strip of lan4,8~feetin width, dedicated to the
City of Arroyo Grande, for future street purposes, lying between Block 2
and Block 3 of Tract 150 as recorded in Volume 6 at Page 18 of Maps, records
of said County and being further described as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of said Block 3, thence North 30 13'
East along the easterly line of said Block 3 a distance of 69.41 feet to a
point of tangency; thence in a Northerly and Westerly direction on a curve
to the left with a radius of 15.00 feet through a central angle of 890 58' an

# arc distance of 23.57 ~clet to a point on thesoutherlyI'ineof MQntego Street;
thence South 860 45' East along the 'southerly line of Monte go Street a distance
, of 90.00 feet toa point on the northerly line of said Block 2; thence ina
Westerly and Southerly direction on thearcofacurveconcave'southeasterly
with a radius of 15.00 feet through a central angle of 900 05' an arc distance
of 23.55 feet to a point; thence South 30 13' West along the westerly line of
said Block 2 ,a distance of 69.39 feet to a point on the southerly line of said
Tract 150; thence North 860 45' West along the southerly line of Tract No. 150
a distance of 60.00 feet to the point of beginning.
RESERVING THEREFROM a thirty foot (30') strip, fifteen feet (15') on
either side of the centerline thereof of said street, commonly known as
nJoen Street, to be abandoned, to be reserved for purposes of drainage,
ingress and egress , water, sew:er'and utilities and the right to construct,
maintain, operate, replace, renew. remove and en1arge said lines,in,cluding
access thereto,

On motion of Councilman Talley, seconded by Councilman de Leon and on the
following roll call vote, to wit:
