RESOLUTION NO. 957
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE ,CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE ORDERING THE VACATION OF CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF GARDEN STREET AND ARROYO AVENUE,
ARROYO GRANDE CITY STREETS, UNDER PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 8323 ET, SEQ, , OF THE CALIFORNIA STREETS
AND HIGHWAYS CODE,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has heretofore elected
to vacate portions of Garden Street and Arroyo Avenue, in the City of Arroyo Grande,
under the provisions of Streets and Highways Code Sections 8320, 8321, 8322 and
8323; and
WHEREAS, notice of the hearing of said proposed abandonment has been given in
accordance with the above referred to provisions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, at its regularly noticed hearing in the City of
Arroyo Grande on the 14th day of December, 1971, at the hour of 8 o'clock P,M, found
from all the evidence submitted that the following portions of Garden Street and
Arroyo Avenue were unnecessary for present or prospective street purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of Arroyo Grande that
the hereinafter described real properties are ordered vacated, Said real properties
are described as follows:
1. That portion of Garden Street described as follows:
All that portion of Garden Street in the City of Arroyo Grande,
County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, as shown on map of
Steele's Resubdivision of-a part of the Ranchos Corral de Piedra,
Pismo and Bo1sa de Chamisal recorded in Book A at Page 63 of Maps in
the Recorder's Office of said County described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northwesterly line of Ide Street
with the southwesterly line of said Garden Street thence along the
northeasterly prolongation of said northwesterly line of Ide Street
North 570 East 15,00 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave
southerly having a radius of 50,00 feet;
thence along said curve through a central angle of 47043'55" an arc
distance of 41,65 feet to the intersection of said arc with the north-
easterly line of Garden Street;
thence northwesterly along the northeasterly line of said Garden Street
North 32039'25" West 101.00 feet more or less to the top of the southerly
bank of the Arroyo Grande Creek;
thence along the top of said bank westerly to the southwesterly line of
Garden Str,eet;
thence along said southwesterly line of Garden Street South 32039'25"
East 120,00 feet more or less to the Point of Beginning,
Reserving therefrom over the entire parcel an easement for the purpose
of drainage, water, sewer and utilities and the right to construct,'
maintain, operate, replace, renew, remove and enlarge said lines,
including access thereto; and
further reserving therefrom a fifteen foot (15') strip, seven and one-
half feet (7-i') on either side of the center line thereof of u:id'Garden
Stre,e,tc,to' ,I),e 'abandoned. to be res'erved for walkway purposes,
2. That portion of Arroyo Avenue described as follows:
In the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of
California, that portion of Arroyo Avenue, as said street is
delineated on the map of Jones Tract recorded in Book 3 of Maps at
Page 86, records of said County, lying between Lot 16 of said Jones
Tract and U, S, Highway 101 as said Highway exists on November 1st,
1971,

the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted this 14th day of December, 1971.
