RESOLUTION NO. 949
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNC IL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
SUPPORTING AND REQUESTING FUNDING FOR THE INITIATION OF THE
CONSTRUCTION OF PORT SAN LUIS HARBOR, COUNTY OF SAN LUIS
OBISPO, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS the Port San Luis Harbor District was formed by a vote of the
people, and
WHEREAS the people formed the Harbor District to enable them to develop
a Harbor in San Luis Obispo Bay, and
WHEREAS the Port San Luis Harbor District, through its Engi~rs and
Consultants and through the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, have designed and te~ted
a Master Plan of Harbor Development and have found it feasible, and
WHEREAS the people of the .City of Arroyo Grande and the people of the
United States will benefit from this Harbor Development,
WHEREAS Engineers, after exhaustive studies, have reported that the
development of the harbor under the proposed plan is economically feasible and
that the harbor will eventually be self-supporting,
NOW THEREFORE IT IS RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande endorses the project and urges a "Yes" vote by the citizens on the proposed
bond issue to provide local funds to be more than matched by Federal and State funds
to build the project.
On motion of Councilman Schlegel, seconded by Councilwoman Thompson,
and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Schlegel, Thompson, Wood, Talley and Mayor Levine
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted this 24th day.of August, 1971.

San Luis Obispo, State of California, do hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution No. 949 is a true, full and correct copy of said resolution passed
and adopted by the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande at a regular meeting
of said Council held on the 24th day of August, 1971.
