RESOLUTION NO. 944
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING RULE X, SEC. 2,
SICK LEAVE; AND RULE XI, PAY ADJUSTMENT, BY
ADDING SECTION 3, EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized and directed under the provisions
of Section 2-3.-2, Chapter 3, of the Municipal Code to adopt revisions and
amendments to the Personnel System Rules and Regulations of the City of Arroyo
Grande as adopted by Resolution No, 606.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE AS FOLLOWS:
RULE X, SECTION 2, IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
SEC. 2. Sick Leave: Sick leave with pay shall be granted by the appoint-
ing authority at the rate of one work day for each calendar month of service.
Sick leave shall not be considered as a privilege which an employee may use
at his discreti6n"but shall be allowed only in case of necessity and actual
sickness or disability, Unused sick leave shall be accumulatep at the rate
of twelve days per year to a total OI not more than ninety (90) work days.
RULE XI, IS HEREBY AMENDED BY ADDING SECTION 3 THERETO TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
SEC. 3. Educational Advancement: Range classifications can be adjusted
to exceed the maximum rate established for the class to which the employee
position is allocated under the pay plan as provided by Rule IV,

and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Schlegel, Thompson, Wood, Talley and Mayor Levine
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted this 13th day of July, 1971.
