RESOLUTION NO. 896
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE ORDERING THE VACATION OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF
BRANCH STREET, AN ARROYO GRANDE CITY STREET, UNDER PRO-
VISIONS OF SECTION 8323 OF THE CALIFORNIA STREETS AND
HIGHWAYS CODE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has heretofore
elected to vacate a portion of Branch Street, in the City of Arroyo Grande,
under the provisions of Streets and Highways Code Sections 8320, 8321, 8322
and 8323; and
WHEREAS, notice of the hearing of said proposed abandonment has been
given in accordance with the above referred to provisions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, at its regularly noticed hearing in the
City of Arroyo Grande on the 13th day of October, 1970, at the hour of 8
o'clock P.M. found from all the evidence submitted that the following por-
tion of Branch Street was unnecessary for present or prospective street
purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY the City Council of Arroyo
Grande that the hereinafter described real property is ordered vacated.
Said real property is described as follows: .
In the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California:
That portion of Branch Street as said street ,is shown upon that certain
map entitled "Map of the Valley View Tract, recorded July 22, 1926 in
Book 3 of Maps, at page 78, in the office of the County Recorder of said
County, together with that portion of Lot 30 as said Lot is shown upon
that certain map of "Harris' Resubdivision of property of E. W. Steel,"
recorded in Volume 3 of Maps, at Page 85, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, also together with that portion of Lot 104
as said Lot is shown upon that certain map of "James T. Stratton's
Subdivision," recorded September, 1873, in Book A of Maps, at Page 67,
in the office of the County Recorder of said County, and being a por-
tion of Lot 75 as said Lot is shown upon that certain map of the
"Rancho Corral de Piedra, Pismo and Bolsa de Chemisal," recorded in
Book A of Maps, at Page 65, in the office of the County Recorder
of said County, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of Lot 1 of Block 1 of said
Valley View Tract, being the Northeasterly corner of Parcel 3 of said
relinquishment to the City of Arroyo Grande; thence on the following
courses:
1) South 70' -:31' 43" East along the Southerly extension of the
Easterly line of said Lot I, Block 1 of valley View Tract and the
Easterly line of the relinquishment to the City of Arroyo Grande,
Map No. 05-SLO-227 PM 00-0-2, File No. 2326 S.H. MB 5, Page 77, a
distance of 28.55 feet; thence
2) South 200 45' 17" West 14.12 feet; thence
3) South 560 52' 08" West 178.00 feet; thence
4) North 800 06' 17" West 20.52 feet; thence
5) North 330 07' 52" West 44.39 feet; thence
6) Northwesterly on a circular curve to the left, concave South-
westerly, with a radius of 130 feet, through a central angle of 520
26' 55", for an arc distance of 118.98 feet to a point on the Northerly
line of West Branch Street; thence North 810 15' 00" East along said
Northerly line of West Branch Street, a distance of 296.35 feet to the
point of beginning.
Excepting therefrom that portion of land conveyed from the State of
California to Arroyo Grande Truck Company, a Partnership by Directors
Deed dated January 23, 1970 recorded on February 5, 1970 in Book
1552, page 479 of Official Records of San Luis Obispo County.

It is further resolved that the City of Arroyo Grande reserve-1nd
except from the vacation of the above referred to street any and all
water, sewer and utility easements and the right to construct, maintain,
operate, replace, renew, remove, and enlarge said lines including access
thereto all pursuant to notice published hereto and provisions of Cal-
ifornia Streets and Highways Code Section 8330.
On motion of Councilman Wood, seconded by Councilman Talley, and on
the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Schlegel, Thompson, Wood, Talley and Mayor
Levine.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted this 13th day of October,
1970.
