RESOLUTION NO. 872
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE REQUESTING THAT THE STATE DEPARTMENT
OF PUBLIC WORKS APPORTION FUNDS FOR THE TOPICS
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, legislation which provides for implementation of the Federal
Government's TOPICS program in California become effective November 10,
1969; and
WHEREAS, Federal funds available to the State and to local government
under this program are to be apportioned to local agencies for expenditure
within urban areas; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Public Works has requested the City
of Arroyo Grande to advise them of its apportionment pf 1969-70 fiscal
year funds prior to June 30, 1970, and to indicate how these funds will be
utilized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Arroyo Grande requests that the City of Arroyo Grande be allowed to accu-
mulate funds and combine them with other fiscal years' apportionments for
use by the City of Arroyo Grande in financing a mOre substantive project;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said funds may be expended by the City of
Arroyo Grande for study and improvement projects in the implementation of
a TOPICS program; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Arroyo Grande intends to
accumulate TOPICS funds on its Priority No. 1 project, Fair Oaks Ave. Ex-
tension and Valley Road between Traffic Way and Halcyon Road.
On motion of Counc!lman Wood, seconded by Councilman Talley
and by the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilwoman Thompson, Councilmen Schlegel, Wood, Talley
and Mayor Levine
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 28th day of April, 1970.
