RESOLUTION NO. 842
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT FOR
COASTAL VALLEY PlANNING COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Sections 6500 through 6514 of the Government Code
of the State of Califor~ia Provide for the joint exercise of
their powers by public agencies by agreement, and
WHEREAS, the cities of Arroyo Grande, Grover City and Pismo
Beach have proposed to enter into a joint powers agreement between
themselves and the County of San Luis Obispo to create an area
planning commission pursuant to Sections 65600 through 65604,of
the Goverment Code of the State of California, which commission
shall be strictly advisory to the cities and to the county, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Arroyo
Grande that it participate in such area planning commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Arroyo Granpe, County of San Luis Obispo, State of Cal-
ifornia, as follows:
1. That the agree\llent entitled "Joint Powers Agreement for
Coastal Valley Planning~Council," a copy of which marked Exhibit
A is attached hereto and incorporated herein as though fully set
forth herein, is hereby,approved.
2. That the Mayor of the City of Arroyo Grande, State of
California, is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf
of the City of Arroyo Grande the Joint Powers Agreement described
in Paragraph 1 above.

and on the following roll call vote, to-wit: "

the foregoing Reso lution was passed and adopted this 14th day of
October, 1969.
