RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY

GRANDE AND IN UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY ADJACEHT
THERETO UNDER AND PURSUANT TO THE MtnfICIlAL
IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 1913, DIVISION 12 OF THE
STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, there are certain portions of this City not
now being served by the sewer system of the City; and
WHEREAS, the continued operation of private sewer
systems, cesspools, and septic tanks in said areas of the Qity
constitute a hazard to the health and w~~eing of the citizens
of the City; and
WHEREAS, it is feasible and desirable that sewers
be extended into said areas of the City and also into certain
areas of unincorporated ter,ritory adjacent thereto; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
San Luis Obispo has heretofore established a policy by which
the County will undertake proceedings for the acquisition
and construction of a sewer system provided that certain
criteria as set forth in the statement of policy adopted
by said Board of Supervisors are met; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this City Council
that the acquisition and construction of a sewer system
within that area of the City and unincorporated territory
adjacent thereto as shown on a map entitled "Comprehensive
Sewer system Plan" and being a part of the Comprehensive Sewer
Study prepared by Koebig and Koebig and presented to the City
of Arroyo Grande on July 1&, 1966.

conforms to the policy established by the Board of Supervisors;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California
does hereby FIND, RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:
Section 1. That the Board of Supervisors is
hereby requested to make a determination as to whether or
not the acquisition and construction of a sewer system within
that area described in the map referred to in the recitals
hereof does conform to the criteria as established by said
Board of Supervisors.
Section 2. That said Board of Supervisors is hereby
requested to undertake special assessment proceedings pursuant
to said Municipal Improvemert Act of 1913 for said acquisition
and construction and to issue special assessment bonds
pursuant to the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, Division 10
of said Code, upon a finding by said Board of Supervisors
that said criteria have been met.
Section 3. That the City Administrator and the City
Engineer are hereby authorized and directed to present a
certified copy of this resolution to said Board of Supervisors
along with such other information as may be deemed neoessary
by said Board in order that the requests herein contained may
be met.
