RESOLUTION NOo 813
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE REQUESTING THE INSTALLA-
TION BY PACIFIC TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH
COMPANY OF EXTENDED DIRECT DIALING SERVicE
BETWEEN THE SAN LUIS OBISPO EXCHANGE AND
THE EXCHANGE SERVING THE SOUTHERN PORTION
OF SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTYo
WHEREAS, the County Seat containing the most of the county
offices, departments, courthouses, hospitals, health departments,
and other county facilities, is located in the City of San Luis
Obispo, just a comparatively short distance from the communi-
ties of Grover City, Arroyo Grande, Oceano, Halcyon, Pismo Beach
and Shell Beach; and,
WHEREAS, persons residing in said communities in the south-
ern portion of the County of San Luis Obispo now experience
great inconvenience and expense due to the necessity of using the
telephone operator in order to call the various public agencies
and business establishments and individuals in the County Seat;
and,
WHEREAS, the public convenience, benefit and welfare would
be served, both as to the citizens and residents of said south
county communities, and the citizens and residents of the City
of San Luis Obispo, by the extension of direct dialing facili-
ties between said areas~
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Arroyo Grande as follows:
That the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company is requested
to install and furnish a direct dialing system for telephone users
between the City of San Luis Obispo and surrounding communities,
and the south county communities of Grover City, Arroyo Grande,
Oceano, Halcyon, Pismo Beach and Shell Beach.
On motion of Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman Wood,
and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Schlegel, Levine, Wood, Smith and Mayor
Thompson.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 28th day of
January, 1969.

County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, do hereby certify
that the foregoing Resolution No. 813 is a true, full and correct
copy of said Resolution passed and adopted by the City Council of

on the 28th day of January, 1969.
