RESOLUTION NO. 795
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE ADOPTING A BEAUTIFICATION
PLAN FOR THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the Beautification Plan
for the City of Arroyo Grande and finds it is consistent with the General
Plan for the City of Arroyo Grande, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires the beautification and improve-
ment of open-space and other public urban land to facilitate their in-
creased use and enjoyment, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 65501 et seq., the City
Council gave required notice and did hold a public hearing on April 8th,
1968, for the purpose of considering the adoption of the Beautification
Plan of the General Plan report and maps, and at which public hearing the
Beautification Plan and report and maps were displayed, explained and re-
ported upon; and
WHEREAS, Title IX of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965
amends Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961 and provides for the making
of grants by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to States
and local public bodies to assist them in the beautification and improve-
ment of open-space and other public urban land where such assistance is
needed for carrying out a local program which is important to the compre-
hensively planned development of the locality;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE:
To adopt the beautification plan for the City of Arroyo Grande.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED:
That the City Council would consider an application to the Department
of Housing and Urban Development for matching funds under Title IX of the
Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965 amending Title VII of the
Housing Act of .1961, if it is determined the City is eligible for such funds.
On motion of Councilman Levine, seconded by Councilwoman
Thompson, and by the following roll call vote, to wit:
AI: Councilwoman Thompson, Councilmen Levine, Schlegel, Smith
and Mayor Wood.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
The foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 23rd day of
April, 1968.
