RESOLUTION NO. 792
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE RE-ADOPTING A
BEAUTIFICATION pLAN tOR THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council has reconsidered the Beautification Plan
for the City of Arroyo Grande and finds it is still consistent with the
General Plan for the City of Arroyo Grande, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to continue the beautification and
improvement of open-space and other public urban land to facilitate their
increased use and enjoyment, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 65501 et seq. the City
Council gave required notice and did hold a public hearing on April 8th,
1968, for the purpose of re-considering the adoption of the Beautification
Plan of the General Plan report and maps, and at which public hearing the
Beautification Plan and report and maps were displayed, explained and re-
ported upon; and
WHEREAS, Title IX of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965
amends Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961 and provides for the making
of grants by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to States
and local public bodies to assist them in the beautification and improve-
ment of open-space and other public urban land where such assistance is
needed for carrying out a local program which is important to the com-
prehensively planned development of the locality;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
l. Re-adopt the amended Beautification Plan for the City of Arroyo
Grnade, and
2. The City Council consider an application to the Department of
Housing and Urban Development for matching funds under Title IX
of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965 as amended by
Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961, if it is determined the
City is eligible for such funds.
On motion of Councilwoman Thompson, seconded by Councilman Levine,
and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilwoman Thompson, Councilmen Levine, Schlegel, Burt
and Mayor Wood.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 8th day of April,
1968.
