RESOLUTION NO. 771
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO SIGN JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
FOR THE SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY AND CITIES
AREA PLANNING COORDINATING COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande desires
to join in and be a part of the San Luis Obispo County and Cities Area
Planning Coordinating Council, and
WHEREAS, Sections 6500 et seq. of the California Government Code
.(Title 1, Division 7, Chapter 5, Article 1) provide for agreements
between two or more public agencies to jointly exercise any power com-
mon to the contracting parties; and
WHEREAS, The City of Arroyo Grande and the County of San Luis
Obispo, parties of said proposed Joint Powers Agreement, by virtue of
Section 65600 to 65604, inclusive, of the California Government Code
have the joint and mutual power to create an "area planning commission"
as provided in said proposed Joint Powers Agreement,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
l. The City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande hereby agrees
to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement for the purpose of creating
the San Luis Obispo County and Cities Planning Coordinating Council;
2. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande are
hereby authorized to execute said Joint Powers Agreement on behalf of
the City of Arroyo Grande.
On motion of Councilman Levine, seconded by Councilwoman Thompson,
and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilwoman Thompson, Councilmen Levine, Schlegel,
Burt and Mayor Wood.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 14th day of

County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, do hereby certify that

Arroyo Grande at a regular meeting of said Council on the 14th day of
November, 1967.
